We conduct training and education at different levels and participate in several national and international lectures, seminars and webinars each year.
Training course on noncommunicable diseases
We arrange annually a WHO/Europe training course on noncommunicable diseases: surveillance, implementation, and evaluation, together with WHO NCD Office and other WHO Collaborating Centres. The course was initiated by WHO to strengthening the capacity to tackle NCD risk factors and improve surveillance. The course is developed for early and mid-career health professionals working in the field of NCDs, but also researchers, policymakers, and postgraduate students.

Gold Standard Programme for Surgery
We have during several years arranged Gold Standard Programme (GSP) courses on smoking and alcohol cessation intervention for staff in health care. The GSP courses was related to the national initiative, smoke-free operation, and the aim was to reduce surgical complications related to smoking and alcohol. The course was offered to all who work with health promotion and smoking cessation, for example nurses, doctors, and physiotherapists. After completing the course, participants could enrol patients in intensive smoking and alcohol cessation treatment. The courses were arranged in collaboration with Lund University and Addiction Centre, Region Skåne. GSP courses are not arranged at the moment.
Supervision and Mentoring
We are happy to welcome students and professionals working in the field of clinical health promotion to our centre. We offer supervision and mentoring of:
- Postdocs
- Doctoral students
- Junior researchers, such as Master's students & interns
- Resident physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals
